1️⃣ #STEMEducation Demand Rising: A global surge in demand for STEM education and industry micro-credentials for digital jobs is evident. STEM course demand has increased to 23.6 million annual enrollments globally as of March 31, 2023, with women accounting for 35% of enrollments. There’s a 61% YoY increase in entry-level Professional Certificate enrollments, with the greatest growth seen in low-income countries and regions.

2️⃣ Digital Skills Prioritized in Lower and Middle-Income Countries: Learners in these countries are focusing on acquiring digital skills such as software architecture, mobile development, and programming principles. India and Nigeria are leading in Professional Certificate enrollments after the U.S.

3️⃣ AI Skills Trending: AI skills are trending globally across education levels. Learners with postgraduate degrees are more likely to invest in advanced AI skills. Conversely, learners with less education are focusing on foundational digital skills needed to enable and implement #AI technologies in the workplace. Europe, particularly Germany, is investing heavily in AI skills.

4️⃣ Gender Parity in Online Learning: North America has the highest share of women learners of all regions globally, and many emerging markets have closed the gender gap in online learning.
